Aaaargh. I can’t find my hair-tie anywhere…!
Gah—my hair’s all over the place now.
"Sakura Haruno is that doubt I hear in your voice?" the young blonde asked with a raised brow. She knew this topic was something they didn’t talk about much but they weren’t kids anymore, they were young women and it was about time her pink-haired friend got out of her bubble.
"That’s it… I’m taking you out. Period. You will have fun, you will get out of your bubble, you will meet some drop dead gorgeous men, and you will definitely have fun.” she smirked as she eyed her friend with a look that said she wouldn’t back down from this even if hell froze over.
"It’s about time you got your nose out of those books even if it’s only for a little while."
She blinked once. Twice. And several more to wrap it up and tell herself that she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. “…what?” was all that left her lips. “You’ve…got to be kidding me.” she swallowed her breath and took a step back, suspiciously eyeing the blonde. “Ino, I… I’m—I’m already having fun…!” An obvious lie. Med school was anything but fun. Stressful as it was, Sakura knew she still had enough perseverance to put up with it.
"Look—I’ve got exams to deal with next week. And the week after that—and so on and so forth." she sighed and waved her hand dismissively, the other rubbing her temples as she imagined all that her friend wanted to do. Things she never had time for—therefore, things she’s finally lost interest in.
If this had happened years back, perhaps she would have welcomed the idea in a heartbeat—but the responsibilities now had weighed her down and she couldn’t afford the time it would take. “Maybe—during our next break, okay?” she gave her a frozen smile. That was terrible. Ino would never buy such a poor excuse. Sakura had a sinking feeling her feeble protests had no effect on her.
"Hiding anything from you is nearly impossible, Sakura-chan" she laughed softly as she raised an eyebrow "The better question would be who have you met?” she said as she pointed at the pink haired girl. “You seem to take more care of your appearance, these days~… Someone I know~?”
"Woah, woah—what? /Me/?" she rests a hand on her chest, brows knit as her lips part in utter belief. "Maybe I should take that as a compliment—because I sincerely don’t know what you’re talking about, Ino-chan." she scoffed lightly, blowing a fringe off her hair. She had trouble making friends as it is. Sakura assumed that her blonde companion must have been meant this as harmless teasing—perhaps to make her feel better since the chance for her with love (or friendship) was incredible low. (close to nonexistent, she might add)
However, she playfully answered, “But don’t worry, Ino. I’ll be suuuure to let you know if I have.”
"Welcome to Kazoku’s local clinic. Do you have an appointment with the doctor?"
“‘Go big or go home’, right~?” She smiled softly as she raised an eyebrow before snorting “My Joker?… No one could ever dream to be my Joker”
"…Huh. Well I know you never fail to impress." A grin passed her lips, her tone light and teasing. In respect to the blonde’s latter statement, she answered, "Well, I was just wondering, is all~ You’re not hiding anything from me, are you?" Sakura raised a knowing brow, her lips pursed in curiosity.
"C’mon, you can tell me anything!"
Boo you… How could ya forget one of THEE best holidays of THA YEEAAR!
Did not…! Just got some other things better to do.
Damn, Ino. Y’really went all out this year. Found your joker yet, hm?~
